”You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Dt. 6:5; Mt. 22:37).
Question to ponder: How often do we truly do this in our daily lives? Instead of coming up with all the ‘rational’ excuses that we can think of, in order to remain comfortably huddled in the corners of our ongoing spiritual boxes?
And yet, when we put God the Father first – we do our level best to love Him at any given moment in time with the entirety of our minds, hearts, and souls (that is literally no matter what it takes and, at times, it will take all we have and we will be extremely reluctant to do so) – everything else falls neatly into place without any obstacles whatsoever. This is the sheer beauty of the greatest commandment of all.
