The Purity of God the Father – Thought for the day

Our Almighty Father is holy and pure, sheer glorious Light. As such we cannot expect to meet Him, to enter into and reside in His Kingdom, no matter how much we love Him or indeed say that we love Him. Unless we become similarly holy and pure in our minds, hearts, bodies, and souls. So why would we not, at the very least, take seriously our striving in this respect, throughout our daily lives? Given that Our Father Who Is Light cannot and will not dwell where darkness – the darkness of impurity, that is sin – resides? How can we expect to live in His Reign, or consider ourselves as ‘holy enough,’ when we continue neglecting the issue of purity? Do we want to live – truly live – in Our Father while He lives in us, throughout our remaining days on earth? Or are we aiming to get through this life and reach the next, by barely making it through the door?

Purity is not for ‘those out there,’ those eccentric saints that we find in books. Purity is for each and every single one of us, to be wholeheartedly embraced and lived out at every moment. So let us, therefore, seriously consider the role of purity in our lives, as purity of heart, mind, body, and soul is one of the things that attracts Our Father to come and dwell with us, in the very heart of our souls.
