The Father, the Son and mankind: Ut unum sint

It is God the Almighty Father who draws us toward His Son, Jesus Christ. For if He did not draw us, through His grace, we would never be able to approach. Yet, reciprocally, it is only through Christ that we can return to Our Father. Because, without Him, we would not have been reconciled and He Is the gate through which we have to pass through, to reach our Eternal Father. Let us not forget this very basic Truth, therefore, in the forthcoming days.

For, “I have revealed Your Name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. Now they have known that all things that You have given Me come from You: Because the words that You gave Me, I have given to them. And they received them and they have known in very deed that I came out from You: and they have believed that You did send Me. I pray for them, I pray not for the world but for those whom You have given Me: because they are Yours. And all My things are Yours and Yours are Mine; and I am glorified in them. And now I am not in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your Name, those You have given Me: that they may be one as We also are.”

“While I was with them, I kept them in Your Name. Those whom You gave Me, I kept them, and none of them is lost but the son of perdition: that the Scripture may be fulfilled. And now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy filled in themselves. I have given them Your word and the world has hated them: because they are not of the world, as I also am not of the world. I am not praying that You should take them from the world, but to protect them from the Evil One. They are not of the world, as I also am not of the world. Consecrate them in truth. Your word is truth. As You have sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for them I consecrate Myself, so that they also may be consecrated in truth.”

“And I do not pray only for these, but also for those who through their word shall believe in Me. That they may be one, as You, Father, in Me and I in You; that they also may be one in Us: so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. And the glory which You have given Me, I have given to them: that they may be one, as We also are One. I in them and You in Me, that they may be made perfect in One: and the world may know that You have sent Me and have loved them,  as You have also loved Me.”

“Father, I will that where I am, they also whom You have given Me may be with Me: that they may see My glory which You have given Me, because You have loved Me before the creation of the world. Just Father, the world has not known You: but I have known You. And these have known that You have sent Me. And I have made known Your Name to them and will continue to make it known: so that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them, and I in them” (Jn 17:6-26).
