The Spirit and the Truth – that is, the Word – are, “the two hands of the Father” (Ireneus of Lyon) rendering Him increasingly transparent, because They are, “the two Persons Who together accomplish and jointly bring to fulfillment the whole of revelation and of its efficacy until the end of the world” (Staniloae, D. 1994. The experience of God: Revelation and knowledge of the Triune God, p. 30). Meanwhile, in revelation God, “presents Himself as the prophet Who is going to fulfill His prophecy” (p. 35).
