“Have mercy on us, O God of all, and behold us; show us the light of Your mercies. Send Your fear upon the nations that have not sought after You: that they may know that there is no God beside You; and that they may show forth Your wonders. Lift up Your hand over the strange nations, that they may see Your power. For as You have been sanctified in us in their sight, so You shall be magnified among them in our presence. That they may know You, as we also have known You; that there is no God beside You, O Lord.”
“Renew Your signs and work new miracles. Glorify Your hand and Your right arm. Raise up indignation and pour out wrath. Take away the adversary and crush the enemy. Hasten the time and remember the end, that they may declare Your wonderful works. Let him who escapes be consumed by the rage of the fire, and let them perish who oppress Your people. Crush the head of the princes of the enemies that say: there is no other beside us. Gather together all the tribes of Jacob that they may know that there is no God besides You, and may declare Your great works; and You shall inherit them as from the beginning.”
“Have mercy on Your people, upon whom Your Name is invoked and upon Israel, whom You have raised up to be Your firstborn. Have mercy on Jerusalem, the city which You have sanctified, the city of Your rest. Fill Zion with Your unspeakable words, and Your people with Your glory. Give testimony to them that are Your creatures from the beginning, and raise up the prophesies which the former prophets spoke in Your Name. Reward them that patiently wait for You, that Your prophets may be found faithful, and hear the prayers of Your servants. According to the blessing of Aaron over Your people, and direct us into the way of justice, and let all know that dwell upon the earth, that You are God the beholder of all ages. Amen.” (Sir 36:1-19).
