Devotion to the Divine Heart of God the Father

Purification – The ascent

Purification in the desert is an ascent, for all our untoward attachments are removed so the Holy Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – can come and live in us. If we are not thoroughly purified this way, how can we open ourselves up sufficiently for Them to come and live in us with power and might? Perfect light and life cannot dwell where darkness resides. Description of the Virgin Mary, the Mother of God – 1

FOR THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER

Our Lady of LongmeadowYou came that weekday morning in response to my question, “Is this church a (spiritually) safe place to be in?” A question I had been repeatedly but silently asking myself when I decided to return to the Church, after having attended Mass in some neighboring churches but in which heterodoxy and illicitness were both prevalent to some degree or another and unashamedly passed off as the new norm.

The mind which no longer sees even itself Continue reading “Seeing God the Father – 3 – From the Core of the Father’s Divine Heart”

The Father, the Son, and the Spirit in the Icon of the Divine Heart – 2

“God made His Son man so that just as He comes to rest, as God, in the loving bosom of the Father (Jn 1:18), so as Man, He, and together with Him, all who are gathered in communion with Him, can also rest in God” (Staniloae, D. 1994. The experience of God: Revelation and knowledge of the Triune God, p. 71).

The Father, the Son, and the Spirit in the Icon of the Divine Heart

“The Father – the sun in the sense of the paternal subsistence of infinite light, causes the Son to appear in Him, that is, the sun in the sense of a reflection of the whole of that infinite light which subsists in the Father. The Father projects Himself within Himself as a filial sun and views Himself henceforth through the latter, while comprising Continue reading “The Father, the Son, and the Spirit in the Icon of the Divine Heart”
