For the people

“When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughter of Zion and cleansed Jerusalem of the blood shed in her with the blast of judgment and the blast of destruction, Yahweh will come and rest on the whole stretch of Mount Zion and on those who are gathered there, a cloud by day and smoke, and by night the brightness of a flaring fire. For, over all, the glory of Yahweh will be a canopy and a tent to give shade by day from the heat, refuge and shelter from the storm and the rain” (Is 4:4-6).

Phinehas and consecration to the Father in 21st century – 2

FIRST LEVEL OF MEANING

Phinehas was a high priest in the Old Testament era who won from HaShem the end of His annihilation of the people of Israel and a covenant of peace, because his love for the Word of God made him defend His commandments with zeal and slay the heresy of Pe’or. The actions of Phinehas arose from his heart, from His love both for God and for Israel. The priest could not stand to Continue reading “Phinehas and consecration to the Father in 21st century – 2”

Phinehas and consecration to the Father in 21st century – 1

THE HERESY OF PE’OR

I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness, I saw your fathers as the first-ripe in the fig-tree at her first season. But as soon as they came to Ba’al-Pe’or, they separated themselves unto the shameful thing and became detestable like that which they loved  (Hos 9:10).

Phinehas was the grandson of Aaron, the brother of Moses (Ex 6:25). He distinguished himself by risking his life to end the heresy of Pe’or and make reparation to HaShem for it, after the people of Israel had bought into the heresy lock, stock and barrel. Phinehas won from the Father cessation of the annihilation of the Israelites as a punishment (Nb 25:11-13). He also won a covenant of peace for the people and a covenant of everlasting priesthood for himself and his descendants.  Continue reading “Phinehas and consecration to the Father in 21st century – 1”

Relevance of the covenantal relationship

“O give thanks to the Lord for He is good; for His love endures for ever. Who can tell the Lord’s mighty deeds? Who can recount all his praise? They are happy who do what is right, who at all times do what is just. O Lord, remember me out of the love You have for Your people. Come to me, Lord, with Your help that I may see the joy of Your chosen ones and may rejoice in the gladness of Your Continue reading “Relevance of the covenantal relationship”

The signs of the times – 24

“O Jerusalem, the holy city, He will afflict you for the deeds of your sons, but again He will show mercy to the sons of the righteous. Give thanks worthily to the Lord and praise the King of the ages, that His tent may be raised for you again with joy. May He cheer those within you who are captives and love those within you who are distressed. Many nations will come from afar to the Name of the L Continue reading “The signs of the times – 24”

The signs of the times – 22 – To the priests – 3

“Should Edom say, ‘We have been struck down but we will rebuild our ruins,’ this is the reply of HaShem of hosts: Let them build! I will pull down. They shall be known as Unholy Land and Nation-with-which-the-Lord-is-angry-for-ever. Your eyes are going to see this . . . The son honors his father, the slave respects his master. If I am indeed Father, where is My honor? If I am indeed Master, Continue reading “The signs of the times – 22 – To the priests – 3”

Purification – The ascent

Purification in the desert is an ascent, for all our untoward attachments are removed so the Holy Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – can come and live in us. If we are not thoroughly purified this way, how can we open ourselves up sufficiently for Them to come and live in us with power and might? Perfect light and life cannot dwell where darkness resides. This is why we are presently being Continue reading “Purification – The ascent”

The signs of the times – 21

“‘I turn again in compassion to Jerusalem; My Temple there shall be rebuilt’ – it is HaShem of hosts who speaks . . . ‘My cities are once more going to be very prosperous. The Lord will again take pity on Zion, again make Jerusalem His very own'” (Zech 2:3-4).
