The difference between the darkness and the light is that the former sends forth all kinds of falsehoods to appear as light, while being no more than multiple variations of darkness itself; whereas the light shines through with the reality of truth Who is God like Whom there is no other.

NEW – Deification of Man in Christianity
Deification is the transformation of man into god through the grace of God. Predominant in the theology of Eastern Christianity, but marginalized and obscured in contemporary interpretations of the theology of Western Christianity, Bartolo-Abela explores how it is deification, not just salvation, that was and remains the intent of God for mankind, with deification occurring not solely in patria, but in via and in patria. This is an understanding of deification which has been largely lost and needs to be recovered in the Western Church.
Examining the works of the Church Fathers on both sides of the East-West divide in Christianity, Bartolo-Abela shows that rather than being restricted to the East, deification featured consistently in many theological works popular in the West, with Continue reading “NEW – Deification of Man in Christianity”
What is deification? – Response to a question
Deification is the attaining of likeness to God and union with Him so far as is possible (Dionysus the Aeropagite, EH 1. 3, PG 3. 376a).

Deification results Continue reading “What is deification? – Response to a question”

You would remain glued to His Presence, unable and unwilling to remove your gaze from upon Him, as He saturates your whole being with His divine Light. But even if you all saw Continue reading “Our beautiful God – Thought for the day”
The true meaning of living in the Era of Peace
How shall we be living in the era of peace, after the great Chastisement has been fulfilled? Unlike for many, if not most, of us living presently in the era of the flesh, during the era of peace we will be living thoroughly spiritualized lives – lives we cannot even begin to conceive of, right now – because the said era will, in effect, be the era of the Reign of the Father, in the intensely Eucharistic Continue reading “The true meaning of living in the Era of Peace”
Meeting God the Father in Spirit and in Truth – Patristics
The following is an accurate description of what it is like to meet the Beauty and Majesty of God our Almighty Father on His Throne, in Spirit and in Truth. This description was written by Gregory Palamas, the saint-theologian of the Divine Light:
The Divine Light “is not the essence of God, for that is inaccessible and incommunicable . . . Continue reading “Meeting God the Father in Spirit and in Truth – Patristics”
